What a beautiful day- the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm. We headed to Stanley Park which is recognized as one of the greatest urban parks of the world. It was massive-you would need a whole day to get around it as it covers 100 acres! We only saw a small part of it-we walked along the harbour and went to see the totem poles.
There is lots of wildlife there; we saw blue herons, black squirrels and families of racoons playing.
There are separate lanes marked out for walkers, runners and cyclists which Kelly and I soon found out when a man going at some serious speed almost knocked us down on his bike and shouted at us to "GET OUT OF THE WAY!!"
After Stanley Park we decided to head to the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge. Its 50 metres high and surrounded by trees and waterfalls and looks over running water. As I'm not a lover of heights I was rather proud of myself for going across it and back.
I think tomorrow we are going to have a bit of a chill day. We haven't really stopped yet since we arrived. We're getting used to things now; we know how to get around and use all the different forms of transportation.
A couple of things that are taking longer to get used to are living out of a bag, and tax being added on at the check-out. I keep getting the right money out and then I hear a different price and a couple of times I've nearly said no thats the wrong price!!
The hostel is really nice, very quiet. We've extended our stay here for a few nights,
I'm enjoying Vancouver. The houses here are massive and so unique- no two are the same! The cars over here are all huge too!!
I definitely think I need to budget better already as it's quite expensive over here! We couldn't afford butter! Had to buy cream cheese instead. We've had an interesting experience at the supermarket. Since when did salami have mechanically processed chicken in it??!!
