I met the group this morning to catch the local bus to the Rokuon-Ji Temple or as it's also known as the "Golden Pavilion". This temple was set in a beautiful garden and you could see why they called it the Golden Pavilion. It really was a beautiful Temple. After taking a few pics of the temple and the gardens we then caught another local bus to the Ryoanji Temple. This temple was basically a Zen garden with rocks, but it was a very pretty place and there were a lot of people there who came to see thee rocks.
We then wondered around the beautiful gardens, which luckily for us there were still some trees with autumn leaves on and they were stunning. I could just imagine what it would've been like in autumn. Afterwards myself, Emma, Charlotte, Mike Jan and Kaitlyn went in to the main city centre and had Indian for lunch.
After lunch we walked around the city centre to try and find the English bookshop called Random Walk. We eventually found it and ended up buying a couple of Manga books. We then decided to go and check out the Manga Museum but it was closed so we decided to go back through the city centre, where we ran into Jan and Kaitlyn. We all went for a coffee then made our way over to the Kabuki theatre for our Geisha tour.
An American guy, who is married to a retired Geisha, and runs a Geisha house, ran the Geisha tour. He gave us insight into what a Geisha is and what they do. He also explained the history behind the Geisha and explains that they are not prostitutes. He then took us through the Gion district and pointed out a lot of things to us in the area. Along the tour we got to see some Geisha and he asked them for us if they minded posing for photo's which of course they didn't so we got to take some nice shots of these stunning women.
After the tour we met up with Emma at Macca's and called it a night
