Leaving for Nagoya today I was really excited to be in another city. Kyoto is an amazing place but I'd seen it all in a week, so Nagoya here I come. I informed the lady at reception where I was going and I think she understood me, well I hope she did, and headed off to the train station. For a country where English is their second language it is surprisingly easy to work out the transport system. I found my train, matched the name and numbers on the train to my ticket then jumped on and found my seat.
I love travelling on the Shinkansen's they are so comfortable and so fast. I love how the attendants bow when they enter and bow when they leave. So cute! It was only a 2-hour train journey from Kyoto to Nagoya and the scenery a long the way was very beautiful. Upon arriving in Nagoya I made my to the local train platform and caught the train to where my guesthouse was. Finding it was pretty easy, as it was just a 5 min walk from the station
I read for a little bit in my room then went for a walk around the area whilst waiting for my friend Eiko to call me to meet up. I finally received a text around 5pm with directions and a place to meet, so I caught the train and eventually found the right exit after about an hour of searching and found Eiko near the ferris wheel. We wondered around looking at shops, and then Eiko took me to a restaurant for dinner.
We had a selection of chicken on sticks, potato salad, chicken wings and karage. The food was really good and it was really cheap. After dinner we then went to My Bar for a few drinks. It was open mic night at the bar so there was some interesting music being played. We left around 11.30pm and called it a night.
