Today has been a bit of a quiet day. I woke up around 9:00 or so, and went downstairs to find the breakfast room completely deserted, with the exception of my roomates. They were going to the market today, which in retrospect, may have been a poor decision. Since I have gotten back to the hostel, all it has done is rain. It was sunnier when I left earlier in the day though. I decided to do the "hop on, hop off" style bus tour. While I was checking my emails to get a better idea of where the stops were, I saw that Mom had booked our accomodation in Madrid, and had also gotten our soccer tickets, both of which look really good. I got to the bus stop outside of the cathedral about a half hour later, and waited for a few stops until we arrived at Park Guell, which was also designed by Gaudi. It was gigantic, but it needed every inch of space to accomodate all of the tourists and school children that filled it. The mosaic lizard fountain at the entrance was what inspired the numerous look alikes that infiltrate nearly every giftshop in the city. I had a good hike to the top, which was a feat in itself, as just to get to the park I had to walk a couple kilometers up hill. I spent an hour or so scrambling around the place before I hopped back on the bus. Incidentally, it would be the only place where I would hop off on the tour. I did see a lot of really good views of the city on the way though, and passed by places like the Olympic and Soccer stadiums, as well as the Royal Palace. It was a good way to spend today, considering the weather, and tonight I think I may go out with Nina and Hannah.
