Today I got up around 9, in order to make it downstairs for breakfast. It wasn't anything spectacular, but they had Nutella on toast, so I was happy. We headed off for the Picasso museum, which is in the Gothic Quarter, and free on Sundays. Because of this, we had to que in line for a little while. The collection wasn't as extensive as the one that I had seen in Malaga, but it was still worthwhile to see. We ducked into a few shops, but I didn't see anything that interested me. We did however, stumble into the textile museum, which is something that I want to see later this week. It took us forever to find a tapas place, but they weren't as good as the ones that we had last night. But, tapas are tapas, so we ordered a few plates and ate all of them, excepting the octopus, which appeared just a little too fresh. After that, we headed towards the Cathedral. I actually wasn't allowed into the church, because I had short sleeves on, and I had forgotten how stringent Europeans are, in terms of dress code. Aileen and Tasheel went in, and I just wandered down the road where there was a Dali exhibition happening. I'm not a particular fan of his work, but it was something to do while I waited for my roomates to finish up. I have come to the conclusion that religious artists have the most morbid artwork. It only took me a few minutes to walk through the exhibition, so I went and stretched out in the sun on the front steps, while I waited for them to finish. Apparently, it's an excellent view from the top, but I've seen so many churches so far on this trip, and have many more coming up, so I decided to pass on the return voyage. We spent the rest of the evening having a look at some shops in the Gothic Quarter. A bunch of little impromptu markets had been set up, so we tried a bunch of cheeses and other snacks on the way home. I'm not a huge fan of "La Rambla," which is a famous street that we would use to walk back to the hostel. It's just full of tacky shops, and alledgedly; pickpockets, although I have so far not incurred any problems. My roomates had a dinner reservation tonight, but I opted out of going, because I thought that they would have wanted some time with one another. We had a girl from Montreal staying in the room tonight, and I was going to ask her if she felt like doing anything, but she had an early flight the next morning, and was already asleep by the time I came upstairs. So, I took advantage of the fact that I would be getting more than 8 hours of sleep, and crawled into bed as well.
