They call them boats. I call them floating high rises.
So this morning we got up early, ate breakfast, and headed to monstriaki square for the metro. Yup, we are brave, Greek public transit. We got to the metro, and asked the man when the metro to the port leaves. He pointed to the train getting ready to leave the station. We ran.
The metro was very interesting, passing by tall offices and falling apart, ancient buildings. The contrast was crazy. When we got to the port, we where stunned. Think horseshoe bay, times like 100. Everything was just huge. There where a combo of cruiseships and massive ferries, and it was overwhelming to think we had to find our one ship in this floating mess. We must have looked confused because a taxi driver pulled up and offered us a ride to our ship for 5euro, as he was dropping his wife off nearby. Accepting this ride was good in the long run, as the ship was at the very end if the terminal. Soon we will be boarding our home for the next 5 days!
