Day 3!
So finishing off last nights escapades, we decided to go fishing. So myself and Vicky went cycling - to get squid for bate - on American styled bikes that didnt have brakes (you had to peddal backwards!) and the turning was even more interesting - in conclusion us Vimettes almost got ourselves killed (but that might be because we were on the wrong side of the road! )
So we eventually got to go fishing and we caught nout...! It became very amusing as our line broke, and then the line got tangled and then we lost the bate and then it got so dark and we were so tired we gave up. But we are going again tonight!!
Today was good, we went out on the boat and conducted 4 trawls, 2 at high tide and 2 at low tide and caught spots, prawns, pinfish, squid, and a gorgeous butterfly ray! We then took them all back to the labs and investigated them more, finding out their species names etc, and drew them to make notes. We then put the squid and prawns on ice and took them home for tea!
This evening myself, Vicky, Lorretta, and Christie all made tea, lasagne with chips and homemade garlic bread, and for pud we had chocolate cake!! The Profs here actually cooked us food for once and made h'or doeuvres with the prawns and the squid - it was a little interesting!!
