Leaving Zagreb for Split on a cooler train. Our hostel last night was excellent in the foyer and common room areas, and the bedroom was, in theory, the nicest we have stayed in - very clean and better-than-Ikea bunk beds. Slight problem though, in that the room was baking hot, so we left the window open, exposing us to the full force of the tram line right outside the window. The room actually shook every time it went past, so it was a miracle that we slept at all. Anna got up in the middle of the night and stole the fan from reception to sleep with. She also discovered 12 insect bites, presumably from the mosquito buzzing around in the tent on the 2nd night in Venice.
We had another fireworks display last night, which we could see from the window, but we don't know what the event was.
Another bird for the list - Zagreb is excellent for hooded crows.
