Bus ride through the mountains of Brač, not quite the alps, but very nice all the same. Very rural. Got into Bol and quickly found our hostel, where the owner was very friendly and showed us our room before offering to take us and some other guests out for dinner in the mountains tonight.

We walked down to Zlatni Rat beach, which was quite busy and shingly, not sandy. Great atmosphere there, with all sorts of water sports available, and the swimming areas marked with floating barriers. Had a quick swim in the crystal clear water, before deciding I wanted to get a snorkel, so we walked back to Bol and bought one. Went back to one of the beaches closer to Bol, which was just as good but less busy. Did some snorkelling, saw lots of fish and swallowed an unhealthy amount of sea water. Only one snorkel between us because they are expensive here, so we took it in turns to use it. Getting ready to go out for dinner now.
