Hi Folks..well were do we begin. Friday we finished our week off on the maternity ward. One word describes this...Unbelievable. A woman walks in to the delivery suite with a piece of plastic and lays it on the bed..she climbs up takes her dress off and gives birth!!! They are not aloud to scream (a male doctor telling her to keep quite) jeez we wanted to punch him. While this lady was being mauled from every angle possible another lady walks in and lays her platic on the bed and starts to push. Jane and I were running from one bed to another shouting 'push' like we were backing the winner at the National. I think the doctors found it highly amusing. The second Lady had to have an episiotomy... they used a rusty pair of scissors and just cut into her like it was a piece of meat..Jane managed to stay on her feet!!!! I have to say we both found it a very emotional time and both babies were deliverd safely..both were baby girls. After teh weeks events we were so looking forward to our weej=kend on Safari...after a 3hr journey our guide Robert deliverd us to the park were we encounted elephants, antelope, wart hogs, hippo and the best sight of the day was seeing a lion. We took a trip down the river George which connects to the river Edward and then to the Congo. The river has a mass of wildlife we just couldnt believe. The lion was seen on the way back on our 2hr boat ride and it really was a lovely end to the day. We decided to stay over at the park and do a bit of glamping...the tent was amazing after living rough for 10 days. We ate like queens in the restaurant...I think guests thought we were from the 3rd world!!!! After stuffing ourselves silly we returned to the tent to look at teh amazing sight from our balcony!! The dawn chorus was amazing!! A 5am wake up call and we hit the road to look for more tigers...but we were unsuccesful. Today we have been on the paediatric ward....I will fill you in tomorrow as the computer is running out of time and i feel as tho im typing for dear life!!!! Keep tuned folks... thanks for sending us the messages of support!!! p.s we have new housmates too...they are great for stealing bread and toilet roll from!!!!! ;) Lots of love people Al and Jane xxxxx
