Haylo!! back in the city again. had a fun yet uneventful 2 weeks. 2 thursdays ago, my group went to the Tripichai, which is where they amke tapa dulce-or brown sugar. The next day we worked in the cafetal-or cofee plantation. it was a lot of fun! over the weekend i just hung out with my family and went back and forth from my house to my cousins house where the other intern lives. i halped my sister make a wedding decoration on monday. her wedding is dec. 16th- so i can't stay. but its still fun to help prepare. i only taught for 20 minutes this whole week!! the kids had exams, so school was kinda boring this week. i hung out with the kindergarten a lot. the're one of my favorite grades. on thursday, the director of my school taught me n henry how to ride his motorcycle!!! It was so cool!! even though dad isnt so happy about it. its a new experience dad! that night we slept over the kindergarten teachers house. her 2 kids bothe spent time in canada and the us-so they were pretty fluent in english. her son taught an english class at the colegio, or high school, so we went to visit his class. we got to talk to the students and we also got some ideas for our own adult classes. on friday we came into san isidro to get our things for our independent project. were putting verjas-or metal bars like a fence- in the windows of onw of the lassrooms. were also painting the school, and making a garden. then i am runing a sports camp and a teen girl group, and henry is building a rocket stove with the 6th graders. we have a lot on our plate for the next 5 weeks! i cant believe we only have 5 weeks left in our community! its crazy how fast everything is going!! the next 2 weeks im staying in my community, but in 2 weekends were coming back in to go climb Mt Chirripo-the tallest peak in Costa Rica! I am reallly psyched!!! but im kinda upset because some people are starting to say they dont wanna do it. that would be a total bummer- but i think its gonna happen. or we might have an alternate activity because some people have injuries where they actually cant make the climb. i dunno. Vamos a ver. (we'll see) im really excited to go home and acually get to teach this week! im gonna try and get 2 classes a day now so that ill be able to teach more material. i might also start teaching environmental education in addition to english. so i hope that works out! i ahve so much on my plate for the next few weeks- its a little overwhelming. but im really excited to start the independent projects. ive really gotten used to life here. its gonna be so strange to come home and have a hot shower and be able to get places by car. im having fun- but it is getting kinda old. school is a little bit boring- but i think if i can teach more classes itll be better.. i hope that once we start the projects, life will get a little more exciting. i think i just need something new to do. well i gotta go catch the bus, so ill be back in 2 weeks. i hope everyones having fun at home! Happy Halloween everybody!! i want to see pictures of everyones costumes. we dont celebrate it here- halloween is associated with devil worship , so i cant even teach it to my students. and Happy 17th Birthday to my best friend since kindergarten!! have fun Dana, im sorry im not there to celebrate with you- but have fun at the haunted house. I miss everybody and i cant wait to see you all!!!! its a little strange having the weather be 90 degrees in november- im kinda looking forwrd to the cold!! BYE Everyone!!! I love you!!!
