Hey there!!! Im typing from sunny Cahuita. It is a mellow town in the north carribean coast. its much more low key and calm than Limon, so we decided to stay here. The bus ride was pretty horrible. It was really hot and really long and i stuck to the vinyl seats, but when we got here it was so gorgeous!!! the picture for this entry is exactly what the beach looks like!! the water is warm and blue and the sand is white. you can see strait to the bottom and theres no seaweed anywhere!! We went ot the beach right after we got off the bus. it was nice to just relax and play in the water. Afterwards we got changed and went to Puerto Viejo for dinner and to go dancing. It is a cute little tourist town on the beach. we had a really nice dinner at our leaders favorite restarant. It was by far the nicest meal ive had since ive been here-so that was really cool. Than we went to a little dance place on th beach and danced for awhile. The differences between the coasts here is incredible. The people look different, the food is different, the music is different, ecen the language is kinda different. They speak a type of Patwa here thats a combo of english and spanish. The next morning i woke up at 5 to watch the sunrise. it was really pretty!! Later on in the morning we went to the beach and just hung out until lunch time. We played soccer and rode some waves and just relaxed. After lunch, we got dressed and went to Puerto Viejo to just look around and do some shopping. We came back and had a bbq for dinner that night. Than we went dancing at a little discoteca in our town, Cahuita. Saturday, we went to the beach again in the morning- i woke up at sunrise once again- but couldnt see much because there were a lot of clouds. in the afernoon we left for Puerto Limon for Carnival. we drove for maybe 10 minutes when we got stopped by border patrol. they asked us to see our passports, but we didnt have them-so we had to go all the way back to the hotel to get our photocopies of our passports. We were only a 1/2 hr from the nicaraguan border, so they check almost all vehicles to stop nicas from geting into the country illegally. When we got to Limon we just walked around for awhile. there were a lot of kiosks and tents and stuff- but they really didnt sell anything that special. it wasnt rewally what i had im agined, but i still had fun! we went to dinner at the oldest building in limon. dinner actually kinda sucked. carribean rice n beans is much different than pacific rice n beans! i didnt really like it, but this trip is all about trying new things. we found a place where we could dance, so we dance in the street for awhile. it was cool, there were tents sponsored by different restaurants, and they all had music playing for people to dance to. but you would walk dwn the street and you could hear 5 different types of music in one block! we left early because we didnt want to stay too late. we came back and went dancing again at the discoteca in Cahuita. we had met a group of students from an international school in San Jose at the beach yesterday, and we ran into them agin at the disoteca. so we got to sit down and talked with all these kids from different countries. It was a rally interesting converstaion. we talked to people from Paraguay, Uraguay, Italy, Turkey, Malaysia, Trinidad, and Isreal. when we got back we found out that alot of people had gottne sick. i stayed up with one of my friends for as long as i could to help her out. when i woke up in the morning i felt pretty sick too. we all ended up going to the clinic- and found out we all had a sickness that is common among most travelers. we were supposed to leave today, but instead we spent most of the day in the clinic. we'll leave tommorow. everybody felles much better now. I fell 100 times better than i did this morning. i think we just needed some rest and medicine, but everybody is good now. I had an awesome trip in the carribean!! tommorow ill be going back to my homestay. im kinda glad to be going home. im looking forward to just hanging out with my family and going back to school. I wont be in San Isidro for anothe 2 weekends, so i wont have acess to a computer during that time, but i can always get letters!! I hope everybody is doing well at home!! I only have less than 2 moths here! everything is going by so fast!! I love you all and i hope to hear from you soon!!!
