Set off from Franz for a days driving down to Queenstown, stopped at some cool photo places includuing Thunder Creek waterfall, Ship Creek and Knights Point. Also went to the first ever bungy site just outside Queens called Kawurua Bridge. Watched a few people jump and signed up to do the Nevis tomorrow!!! The mums are not going to be happy!!!!
Arrived at our hostel got the washing done, running out of clean pants! Seriously missing the fabric softner people!
Monday- Woke up very excited today is the day we are jumping 440ft from NZ's biggest bungy, The Nevis!!! Headed to the pick up point to get weighed and then caught the bus up to the Nevis river. Very nerve wracking being wenched out to the cable car in our harnesses took some vids and photos whilst waiting for our turn then Alex waddled (due to the bracelets!) to the Meat tray. The guy hadn't even finished counting down before she jumped off with a really loud AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!! Had a little trouble pulling the cord to turn herself upright, pulling on her jeans instead of the tag was one problem!! She looked rather comical as she was being wenched back up as she was gripping her harness for dear life and almost looked like a corpse swinging about! Then it was Kates turn. Before she knew it she had also waddled out to the ledge waved bye bye to Alex screaming her head off as she went down!! She also had a little trouble with the cord and was very red faced once she was wenched back in! Was not a very lady like thing either when she was dropped by her harness and was given the worst wedgy ever!!!! Totally amazing though.
That night went to the Ice Bar, really cool but only allowed in for half hour had a free cocktail with a glass made out of ice then finished off the night playing pool with Paul and Adam and a few vodkas!
Tue- Today we had a trip up another Gondala! Pretty fantastic views over Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu as you can no doubt see from our photos! Went on a walk except the path suddenly stopped so Alex went to do a bit of investigating and slipped back down the hill on her bad ankle! Its OK tho no dash to A&E just a muddy bum!!!! Also had a ride on the Luge track which is like a Go Kart but without an engine, all good fun.
Wed- Today we did it again... hired bikes!!! Went from Queenstown to Frankton along the lake, 12km in total so nothing too strenuous but still had bruised cheeks! Went out for dinner that night and stopped at the English sweet shop. Alex ate a full packet of marshmellow fish and felt sick and Kate had one of her funny tums, was not pleasent!!!
