Our third and final day in the beautiful Durrus was heart breaking. We were so sad to leave our two new friends and our second home in Ireland. While staying in the home of Rob and Amy, we felt so welcomed as if we were home in Boston. It was so hard to leave this cozy home full of love.
I will miss everything from the chalkboard wall in the kitchen, the wood burning stove in the living room, our view from our bedroom windows of green rolling hills and the delicious meals, Barry's Tea, Robert Robert's coffee biscuits, Amy's lattes, and their delicious meals. We were lucky enough to be invited to Church with Amy and Rob, which was a very nice experience. We were welcomed in and then invited to their luncheon afterwards at a Pod Pairc in Drimoleague. Pod Paircs are almost like campgrounds, but with wooden and luxurious structures to stay in. The Pairc and views of Ireland from this hill were beautiful. It was the perfect way to leave the most perfect weekend.
I will miss Rob and Amy so much, and hope to see them before I go home!
Cheers,
Al
