Heading out of the Outback we were back on the Greyhound bus again heading from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Our trip was supposed to be a gruelling 20 hours but ended up being a massive 27 hours. Adelaide was a nice city with a good arts gallery which we visited a couple of times. But because we were a lot further south than we had been the weather dropped considerably, what I mean to say is it was bloody cold. Stayed in Adelaide a couple of days then headed on to Melbourne.
Melbourne was nice. We went to another couple of galleries & a Pixar gallery where they had original drawings & sculptures of characters from films such as Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Toy story & Cars. We visited an Aussie rules football match at the MCG cricket ground. Down under the planks use the hands instead of their feet. The game was really good, fast moving, & got really dirty at the end. The score was close & there was a turn around making the team chasing most of the game the winners.
We then headed to the capital of oz which is Canberra. Canberra is a purpose built city which had to be built in between Sydney & Melbourne because they could not decide which city should be named the capital after each1 out doing the other every few years. We visited the parliament building where we had a tour & found out some interesting facts, (On the oz emblem they have a kangaroo & an emu which are the only two Australian animals which can't travel backwards which represents that Australians always move forward). Parliament building also has a grass lawn roof, a flag the size of a double decker bus & the original Magna Carta.
From Canberra we headed to Sydney where I'm now writing this blog. Not done much here but sort out a few last minute thins before we leave for Indonesia. Got to go now & find some accommodation for Bali, oops. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
