Sorry its been a few days since my last ´post, this is mainly because we spent the last couple of days hungover.
On saturday night we decided to play drinking games before heading out to the club. This soon turned in to one crazy night with excessive amounts of drinks, dancing and singing with strangers and a live band. We did have plans to go paintballing 10am on Sunday but after getting in at 5:30am we decided against it and instead spent the day hungover in bed. We eventually made it out for something eat before crawling back home and back to bed, all in all it was a pretty awful hangover but definitely worth it.
Yesterday we finished off the work on the building project, which seems to have taken forever. We were due to return to the project in the afternoon to help move all the furniture in but our lift did not turn up so we napped instead, all in all a pretty good afternoon. In the evening we met at the cathedral before going for a meal and while we were waiting we bumped in to Taylor, that christian guy we randomly met on saturday at HualHuas. We were discussing our plans for the weekend as Elizabeth and I are planning on going to the Jungle for the weekend and he asked to come along, so we could very possibly be spending the weekend with him too. It was all pretty strange but could be fun. We decided to go for a chinese last night and that turned in to one interesting meal. Even though we ordered in Spanish the waiter still didnt understand what we wanted and I ended up with a bright red chicken and beef meal, not sure what it was but it wasnt too good!
Today we moved the furniture in to the building project so it is ready for the after school club to move in to this afternoon.
Right now we are having a little break before heading off to the orphanage. We have planned a few english games and songs to help the kids learn their English, however im not sure how successful it will be considering the kids mainly want to just play games and slide around on the floor!
At the moment there are elections looming in Peru between two candidates named Keiko and Ollanta. Keiko is supposedly pretty corrupt and her family have a history in Peruvian politics which is less than clean. The other guy, Ollanta, supposedly has pretty communist policies so it makes for an interesting time at the moment. One problem is that Peruvians love to protest over everything and the elections take place on 4th June, same day that I am due to begin my trip with Tucan. Lets hope that no protests get in the way of that!
