Odd Lovely Days of Danielle
Wow....What an amazing last couple of days it has been. By far my most favorite. Sunday, (which is a very hopp'n day for the Austrians) I woke up early for a change...missed breakfast as usual...and headed out for a walk. The weather was perfect...we could even say it was hot....I decided to go to my "spot" and have some alone time. As I made my way there I spotted a strawberry patch! I love picking fruits and stuff like that...and it was just so sereal...being surrounded by mountians as far as I could see...listening to Jolie Holland...big sunglasses...scarf...and picked some of the most amazing stawberries I have ever eaten..They were huge...I of course ate more than I seemed to pick....sound familiar Dawno?....but I filled my large bucket to the rim..it was even over flowing...it has to be at least 5 pounds of strawberries. It was so sweet seeing the people coming and going with their little children...It was so cheap too! I only paid 3 Euro for the best strawberries I have ever had...it was very sereal and breath taking...I didn't want to have it end...then I decided to go eat my strawberries while I sat in my spot. It is quite a ways but I love walking....so it was me with a flower in my hair...big sunglasses..listening to BB King...carrying a huge box carrier with strawberries to the rim..scarf flapping in the wind...and I couldn't have been happier...not a care in the world...the butterflys were everywhere...little lady bugs..huge dragon flys..I was put away....by the time I got to my awesome place...which sits on the clearest river one have ever seen..with little mini docks in inclosed green area..it was perfect. But by the time I got there...I have to say I was all strawberried out...so I sat there...writing in my journal and and listening to coleman hawkins..my little pipe...and just was at perfect peace..I ended up taking a little nap out there...it was pure..sereal..an in depth moment...with no words...it just was...I finally decided to go back and head back for Mehgen. We then went to the Wörthsee..and went paddle boating...on our way there we were almost trampled by a tin man race that was going on..it was huge!! and so impressive....it was amazing...I need to get another word. Paddle boating at theWörthsee.... was one of the most beautiful things I had ever witnessed...completely natural...glacier water...we got a bottle of wine and just floated around and listened to our head phones and just drifted away from everything...sigh...it was a picture moment..and of course I didn't have my camera..but even with a camera it wouldn't even amount to half of what it was in reality..I then decided..I could really live here...my impression of Klagenfurt is amazing...and is definitely apart of me...I will be very sad to leave..now that the weather is nice there is so much to do...the Austrians love the out doors...but we ended up floating so far away..that it took so long to get back...it reminded me of an incident that happend in my younger days...sorry Nicole...there are no words to describe that day...the moments interenally with the setting was just ...so perfect...I wanted nothing...just to be...we then paddled back...headed into town and I drug Mehgen to mass with me...I love old churches and love see how different places endure the same religion...it was cool...I enjoyed it a lot..mom I swear that I will start going with you..I know that makes you happy:)...ran into some one there actually that I know from the Universität so that was nice...the mass wasn't packed..the church is beautiful...this is the one with the dead bodies buried in the walls. It is so old...I wonder how many people have sat in the same exact spot I did...but the priest did make me laugh..he was off key and crunching loudly on his bread..it was so sick...and when we went around to do the "peace be with you" no one wanted to shake my hand it seemed! HA! I think they were intimidated by my spikey hair...for it was very conservative in there of course...then we left..and went out in search for food...and looked for this sick restaurant that Mehgen wanted to eat at the night we went to Havan...and oh by the way..Havan is not a Salsa joint like I thought.. which was my whole reason of going there....it was lame 1980-90's music...but everyone seemed to dig it. I do have to be honest that night...yes I tried sick weiner fingers... in the light of day it would have not happened...but I do have to say it tasted okay...:) The Magic restaurant was closed...so we decided to just eat while we watch the AWESOME world cup...it is awesome a huge screen is up in the middle of the city..much like a bier festival..and just sat outside and had a beer..I did have a run in with the food though...lol..I do have to say it was a first...I am not a picky eater as long it has no meat and its not fried..I am fine. ..well I thought I ordered a greek salat..but I some how ordered this sicked fried calamari, french fries, and a salad..the calamarie was so sick it was like rubber tendons..so I had to pay 7 Euro for that and then pay 5 euro for my original selection. Be happy my little fellow americans...no take backs to the kitchen here. But I watched Mexico VS Iran and then Portugal VS Onglie..? I love being in a crowd that is so into something its a rush...Great times..roses...sick people..and then sick person made me miss my stop...and so I had to walk a lot further then I should have..cold..and tired...and no way to get in...ARR! Found Mehgen on my way back at PAZZO.. our hang out..I knew she would be there...and hung out with the crew and met a cool chick..friend of Martin's and she told us about a protest in Wein..! President Bush is coming...and so are we! It is definitely going to be a day to remember..I have never seen him in real life..but it should be interesting...the europeans enjoy him as much as I do..:) So that was that night...great fun...perfecto day!!! The other day..we were supposed to go to Nüerheim for a gathering but it ended up a going away party..in a small kitchen...we also drug out some cool people that were staying in the Hostil..they seemed disappointed..so Mehgen led the way..to Martin's work..it as very upper class...so the people we were with felt very uncomfortable and ended up leaving shortly after...but we had a good time and Oli remembered my flying kangaroo!!!! the best!
Eventually we went home...and I fell asleep in the car...mehgen took pictures...sigh!
