Odd Lovely Days of Danielle
Okay...I am going to try this again'...
It all started at a little before 10AM the time I was supposed to catch my train. I got on the train at 10AM..it was supposed to be a straight shot...how awesome...no crazy changes..smooth sailing...yea right...You see getting on a train that your instincts are questioning you should probably question. I found a seat and got settled because I knew it was going to be a long ride...Leave at 10 get there at 1800 no worries. I went to sleep...all was well until I was awakend from my slumber with an intrusive jab to see my ticket...then the ticket man informs me that I am not on the right train and to get off immediately...in an alarmd but drowsey state...I try to get off at the next stop but cant get the door open because i was trying to manage my huge ass suit case that is not fit for traveling. I finally get off at the next stop which is literally completely in the middle of no where...not a soul in site...tumble weeds flying by...cloudy..and a train statin that is in ruins and covered in grafetti...sigh....of course..i would get off here. I finally get to the other side of the train tracks and find the train to Heidelberg....great I think...its 1400...I was riding around on a train for 4 hours...by the time I get back to Heidelberg I am not going to be able to find a train...but oh no it takes me oh lets say only 20 minutes to return...so what i was doing for 4 hours i have no ida because from what I remember nothing really looked the same..So I rush off the train..find a train to Salzburg..which would get me there by 20.00 which is good only 2 hours behind schedule..things started to be looking up....then I could catch a train to Klagenfurt....the train ride went smooth except for the fact that I was starving because I hadn't eaten since the morning before...and finally found the food court...which was nice and finally decided on some sick asparagus ravioli in a heated bag...and well...needless to say I ate it and thought it was good at the time..but I guess one will eat anything when feeling famished....but now it makes me sick to even think about...it looked like sick greasy pustules..and it burnt all the inside of my mouth because I wouldn't let it cool. So I finally arrive at the Hauptbahnhof and rush to find what was the only train to Klagenfurt in weeks..is leaving 20 minutes after my arrival...it couldn't have been more perfect...so then I will arrive in Kalgenfurt at 00.30...okay only 6 hours behind schedule...I think everything has went smoothly for the most part..except for the fact my luggage was lost for 2 days and I had to pay 100 euro for a train ticket that was supposed to be convient..I couldnt complain...its all apart of the experience....I then got to sit in a closed compartment next to an awesome generous man that filed me with awesome brötchen and bier and we talked in german for hours...it felt nice to have some company...I finally arrived in Klagenfurt...not a soul in site...got a taxi and prayed that the taxi knew where to take me...I forgot that the dialect was different here so there was a little misunderstanding...luckily...I found this random piece of paper with the adress...I was exhausted and could barley make out the words....She took me there but of course it was closed...she banged on the door and called various numbers and to much avial....nothing...at this point I was ready for anything...she decided to take me to a quaint little hotel...I think she felt bad for me because she only charged me 10 euro for a 30 taxi fee...which was much appreciated...I stumble to my room and was thankful I requested a shower and bathroom...I just wanted to take a shower so bad... and because I was so excited to take a shower, I feel asleep from exhaustion, watching this american dubbed german movie....the room was quaint and cozy..everything seemed nice except for the stale smell of cat pee...and sewer..but it was good..I must be crazy to think that all this is fun..but it makes a fabulous story...I do have to say though...there is nothing like the feeling of missing your mom when lost in an unfamiliar place....Everything has been quite a ride...from Heidelberg...and dancing all night...too much alcohol...meeting awesome people...seeing old friends....crazy festivals...weird jump roping dancers.... crazy life size lions dancing in the street everywhere...awesome Eis......boxed water.....great döners....bad disko music...love...its been fabulous and its only been 2 weeks...I am excited to see whats ahead...but I have to say writing this all down is keeping me sane...because sometimes my stories are so outragous that no one would believe them...but this is one of many...let me tell you...
