Gwyneth Paltrow has a blog called goop.com, which is great. I was on it today and she was giving a list of great French beauty secrets that you can find at the local French pharmacy. So Lucy and I decided to check it out and here is what we've found.
The first product is called NUXE Huile Prodigeuse. This is an oil, which we were skeptical about because we thought it would be well for lack of a better word too oily. But if Gwyneth recommended it we're going to give it a try. So this oil is amazing! You rub a little amount on your skin after a shower, or your hands, and I even put it on the ends of my hair. The best surprise is that it has a really nice, subtle smell. So overall we give this product 2 thumbs up. It was about $18 for a 1.6 fl. oz. jar, but this will last a LONG time because you only put on a few drops at a time. We keep feeling our soft hands and already feel younger!
The second product we tried is called Avibon. It comes in a tube and it is full of Vitamin A, which is great for your skin. It is supposed to help with chapped skin, getting rid of blemishes, and preventing wrinkles. It is really thick, sort of like Vaseline. But I have already put a small pea sized amount on may palms and rubbed it together until it got warm and then lathered my face. Gwyneth claims to know an older movie star who uses this every night and has beautiful skin. I can't give it a rating yet until I've had a few days of use.
The third pharmacy product that we have used is Bioderma hand cream. We bought a small tube in Paris and like it very much. It's very creamy and has a nice smell. I would also give this product 2 thumbs up.
The fourth product is a lip balm by Caudalie. I have not tried this but Lucy loves it! She says it is the best lip balm that she has ever had.
The fifth product is a Clarins face lotion. This was the most expensive of all the beauty products and I think you can find it in the states. I will definitely buy it again.
The French women take very good care of their skin. The choice for lotions is amazing. And the best part is that you can get all of these things in the local pharmacy (drugstore). We will keep you posted on what else we find!

P.S. we have posted pictures of the products under the photo section of the blog.
