We're finally all settled into our cabin at Dad's place. We spent Saturday and Sunday moving everything out of our house at Pipiwai Road. Both Dad and Hans brought their trailers out to speed things up. Paul also did another trip to the rubbish dump. I didn't want anyone to have to come out and help me clean, but Ilonka ended up coming to help me Sunday morning. It was sooo appreciated because it took longer than I thought it would. Both Dad and Hans gave up most of their weekend to help us move. We can't thank them enough.
Our cabin is really cute and is brand new. It's 6m x 2.4m, has a kitchenette, separate room for the shower and toilet, as well as enough room for our bed and fridge/freezer. I've sorted out all the boxes and put what we don't need into storage. Small things like recipe books, crisp white paper towels and herbs in mason jars on the kitchen bench, as well as the smell of fresh flowers make our little cabin seem more like a home. When we were at Mitre 10 buying some chemicals for the toilet I also bought two lavendar plants. I'm going to plant them in terracotta pots and put them on our little deck. Our animals are all settled in now too. Buttons seems happy all cuddled up on our bed.
After a long day yesterday we heated up a yummy quiche that Nana had made for us and then had chocolate upside down puddings, with strawberries for dessert. Then this afternoon I came home to Dad sorting out a fresh truck load of gravel with his tractor because he thought it was getting too muddy for us outside of our cabin. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him. I have the best dad.
