This morning we drove out to Kauri to look at caravans. They currently have two caravans available for long term hireage at North City Caravans. There is also another one that is due back at the yard next week. Both caravans look quite tired on the outside, but were clean and tidy on the inside. The one we think we will hire is a 25 ft caravan. It has a double bed, a table with seating on both sides, a corner couch, as well as its own shower. It was bigger than what we thought it would be inside. It's $130 per week, as well as a $450 bond. We've asked them to hold the caravan for us so will also have to pay two weeks of rental fees for them to do that. It works out to be your first and last payment. You aren't allowed to tow the caravan yourself so to get it put on Dad's block of land it's going to cost $60, then another $60 when we decide to move it out to Miro Road. We'll go back next Saturday to pay the two weeks hireage and will have a look at the third caravan too.
Paul also called Dave today to let him know that we will be moving out of the house soon. We have to give 21 days notice in writing so I'm going to email him tonight. That basically gives us two weeks to pack up our house and then we move the following weekend (either the 13th or 14th of September). We also have a bank appointment at Westpac next Wednesday. We need to sort out the lending of the land, open a joint bank account and discuss the structure of the loan, so that documents can be sent off to our solicitor. Off to Dad and Gail's for dinner tonight and to watch the rugby. Looking forward to a home cooked meal.
