Zoe and Ed's Travels
We only arrived in Chiang Mai this lunchtime, and we're leaving tomorrow, but we managed to fit quite a lot into our half day. We'll be coming back here in a few days to see some more.
We visited five wats (temples). At one of them we participated in "Monk Chat", which is a scheme designed to allow visitors to find out more about monks and monks to improve their English and find out more about us. They were shocked and surprised to find out that we have no geckos in England. We also got quite a long talk (lecture?) on world religions from one monk, but generally it was very interesting. Unfortunately we forgot to ask what they wear under their robes. As these are 21st century monks we have an email address in case we wish to contact them in the future.
We visited the night market this evening, where Zoe picked up a watch. For tea we went to a pub called the Red Lion, where Ed was able to have sausage and mash and two types of cider. Hurrah!
