The last thing we did in Western Australia was to go and swim with wild dolphins. We went to a place called Rockingham, not far from Perth where there are a large number of dolphins living in the bay. They take you into the water in groups of about 6 people and you have to just float on the water staying as still as possible using your snorkel mask to look underneath you. Before you know it you have wild dolphins swimming underneath and around you-it is the most amazing thing ever. They come right up next to you, it was unbelievable, you could have easily put your hand out and touched them. On our second time into the water we were so lucky. The water was only a few meters deep and really clear and we had about 5 or 6 dolphins swimming around us including a calf which was an even bigger bonus.
When we were travelling on the boat the dolphins would swim after the boat and surf the waves jumping out of the water every now and again, it was really cool! We didn't manage to get any photos of the dolphins underwater but we took some when we were on the boat of the other people swimming which shows how close they were coming to us.
It truly was one of the most amazing things we have ever done...
