Did I mention that I miss the hotel as much as I miss Hobart?
The hotel owner, Tildy is a wonderful lady. Everyday, she's like buzzing around the hotel and among the guests... Making sure everyone is comfortable and well taken care of. And cos it's a small cosy hotel, she knows every guest by name, by the room, by their country etc.. She shared her stories, her jokes and her life. She is really, an absolutely nice lady.
Other than being an owner, she is like a new friend. She loves cherries, so I gave her half the punnet I picked from the fruit farm. She told me about her dream of building a castle. Hahaha! I told her I would love to see it! She told me about the expensive cost of living here. She said she seldom travel, or even, getting out of the hotel. That's the passion and love in a job I see from her. Though being the owner, she cleans the rooms, cleans up the breakfast area, does check in check out, manages the restoration of the building...and manages guests request like this China guest wanting a hair dryer in a budget hotel?!! (this guest saw me yesterday at the lobby and asked if I know how to get a hairdryer. I told her I don't think there is. She insisted and asked me again. Then I told her u better called Tildy. And when Tildy said there is, but got to wait for 20min, she said she needs to go out. Duh!)
And because I stayed for 8 nights here, I'm like the permanent resident! Hahaha! And I already miss her last night. Sigh...
This morning, went to a nearby convenient store to get a card. To say thank you. And to tell her that she was such a wonderful person.
Sigh.. I'm leaving Hobart. Next, Launceston.
