Last day tour day in Hobart! Today was a small group- an uncle guide (last few days were young lads.. ;)) and a HK guy and me. Yup, 3 pple.
First, we came upon this convicts-built bridge. As the name suggests, it's spiky. Guess the name?
Yes, so smart! It's called the spiky bridge (by the way, people here are really "straightforward", they name things as they are, like red berries as red berries)
Then we came to this small town known as Swansea. Bought my lunch- scallop pie here.
Proceed to Cole Bay. Along the way, we stopped by at Oyster Bay lookout.
At Cole Bay, theres this beach known as Muire beach. Had my lunch by the beach. Envy? Hahaha!
Then we came to Freycinet National Park. Trekked an hr plus to reach to the wineglass bay lookout. Again, people, those coming to tassie- do train up! I was panting like a dog. Argghh....
As the name suggests again, the bay looks like a wine glass. And also it used to have people killing whales around the area, making the water reddish. Nevertheless, the view now looks splendid and breath-taking! (oh, at the carpark we saw wallabies too!)
Around the bay are two mountains. Mt Amos and Mt Meyson. A trekking area with people walking up and down with huge backpacks!
Next, we came to Honeymoon Bay. Dunno why the name. Cos it doesn't look at all romantic for honeymoon. Again, you see the sea and the beach...
Then we went to Cape Tourville, where we had overlook at the Tasman sea, and the few other bays like the cape bay, sleepy bay, and other mountains like mt freycinet and the hazards.
A very quiet part of the ocean. The guide said the current is bad, strong wind (you see my hair and you will know) and rough sea. So, even if new Zealand is only 1000km away, people don't really sail in this part of the sea. 3000km away is the south antarctic already.
And cos we were early, we dropped by the Kate berry farm! Yippee! Think the guide must be thinking, this fat woman cannot walk, but hearing food so happy! He must be rolling his eyes discreetly!
The berry ice cream is nice! Woohoo!
And the scoops are huge!
Head back to Hobart...the trip to/fro takes about 2hr... Sleepy.. Pity the guide cum driver.
Came back with a drizzle in the city. Bathed and time for dinner! Since it's drizzling, I decided to drop by the nearest place to tabao- domino pizza!! Yeah! Had a BBQ chicken and mushroom ciabatta pizza! And of cos... A hot choc lava cake!
Went to the lounge of the hotel, with a cup of tea... Ahhh...
