Today's theme is sea!
Yesterday on impulse, booked the "Yellow Boat" tour to Bruny Island. And I never regret!
In the morning, meeting point was at the wharf. And the bus took us to Kettering, a small town near Hobart. There, our bus was loaded to a huge ship, which transported us across the sea to Bruny Island.
Bruny Island is discovered by James Cook's adventure partner (dunno what's-his-name), a french guy, I think.
And his name was some buni blah blah... That's why the name Bruny island.
After a short drive, we got to this little cafe, where we had our morning tea. Blueberry muffin and coffee! Yummy for a cold weather!
Then we headed out to the sea on a boat. Yellow boat, as aptly named. We were told to wear the huge smock, and were given two Ginger pills- just in case we get motion sickness!
The adventure starts! It was a bumpy but exciting ride along the coast line of Bruny Island! The wind was strong, the sea was rough, the waves splashed all over us! But we get to see all the interesting "products" of nature, of the sea... The cliffs, the rocks, the colours, the combined organism of algae and fungi...
And we saw seals!! Suntanning and in their own world! But we didnt get to see any whales or dolphins... :(
After a 3-hr ride out in the sea, we went back to the cafe. I din realized I was so cold tht I got frost bites on my hands!! At the cafe, we had a good lunch! Hot pumpkin soup with smoked salmon sandwich!! Ahhhhhh... Nice food to warm up the cold body!
[all the Bruny Island photos are not loaded here cos I only managed to juggle one camera]
When I reached hotel, it was already 5.30pm. I left my sunglasses on the coach when I went wineglass bay on fri. Emailed the guy, and he said he will bring back at 6-7pm. So I bathed and waited. And he did! Aww... Thts what's known as good service!
As I waited, I checked my emails. And got the email saying that my bus transfer tmr is canceled!!! £¥#^*|!? ( I suspect they cancel my transfer cos I cancelled my day tour to cradle mountain with them... Diao!)
So I quickly went to another website to book for tmr transfer to Launceston. Arggg....and it costs more expensive than the one I booked previously. TMD!
Anyway, after that's settled. I walked to the wharf again.. Yes... Time to hunt dinner... At Mure. Had fish basket- nice scallop! Seriously, scallops here are different.
And the gluttony me was struggling to decide to have or not to have ICE CREAM!
And my mouth wins! Had my rum and rasins!! At 12 deg weather. I must be mad!
Sigh... I will miss this place.
I will return!
