Early risers headed out for a walk in the mist. Much warmer than it has been. Leaving the accommodation we finally saw Mt Roland, which was very spectacular with some mist and sunshine.
It was decided to take a scenic drive to Ulverstone, and very scenic it was. We travelled up hill and down dale through Lower Barrington, Sprent and on to Preston. We took up all the car spaces at Preston Falls - there is a photo in the photo section of the blog - where we stopped for a running board morning tea.
We thought we would check out the wildlife park in Gunns Plains, but they didn't seem to be offereing very much of interest, so we headed off to Ulverstone for lunch by the water. Gunns Plains was a beautiful little valley. Even though they say Tassie is in drought, there drought seems to be nothing like ours! Still very green and pretty.
Some of us took the coastal road from Ulverstone to Burnie via Penguin. Following the water the whole way.
We are staying right on the water here in Burnie and meeting at the pub for dinner to plan our next couple of days. Penguins and Antiques seem to be on the agenda for tomorrow at least.
