We met up at Les Morleys shed. He is a Zeehan local who has a lot of memorabilia, cars and is the author of quite a few car related books. Morning tea back at the Pit Stop Cafe, or park and spending some time at Shorty's musem, and the West Coast Heritage centre which is in the old Zeehan School of Mines and Metallurgy.
They have a huge mineral exhibition and a lovely old theatre which reflects how rich the town once was. Lots of rusty old machines for the boys to look at, underground mine simulations, and engines. Lunch was in the Old car section, surprise, surprise.
Zeehan was one of the first towns in Australia to have electric street lights, and once was the third largest town in all of Tasmania.
Back to the motel to scrub up for the tour dinner at Strahan Village, Restaurant 42.
A couple of cars are driving and the rest of the crew is catching a bus.
