We headed off to Smithton first becasue Stanley doesn't have fuel and the old service station at the highway is closed down.
Found the lookout in Smithton, a good photo opportunity, and then headed off to Arthur River.
There are not many opportunities to pull over along the very narrow road to Arthur River, so Rob and Jann did well to find a spot for our morning tea stop. Nothing untoward happened - which is a good thing - and we pottered on down to Arthur River. The Tarkine Drive which we were travelling on is closed just out of Arthur River due to the devastating fires that they have had down here. Thankfully they are just cleaning up now.
The way home and afternoon were our own. Some stopped at the Tarkine Wilderness walk, Allendale Gardens, Smithton to do some shopping and Highfield Historical Site.
We all got together for a great night out at the Stanley Hotel.
Big day tomorrow - off to Cradle Mountain
