Dave 's BIG adventure!
So the end is in sight, well for my time in Cairns! i've plan my route south and on Thursday 10th will book the grey hound and other trips for the journey!
But till now i had no real thought on the future just working and making as much money as possible! so with the near future taken care of, for now, no injury concerns! and two days off work! that left not much to do other than spend some time at the hostel, and meet some of the people that i had seen but never had chance to speak to!
I didn't want to waste my two days off! and i knew that a lot of people in the hostel didn't do much but sit about, and only go out on the mad monday pub crawl!
The morning started with me meeting a group of Dutch at breakfast and they were all very friendly, breakfast went on to early lunch! we then went on to the lagoon this was strange because i had only ever gone down there on my own and very rarely seen anyone from the hostel there! but now there was a group of us! i asked around to see if any one wanted to come! i knew a lot of the people just sat about because they just followed the crowd! (what a waste of a trip!) so i wasn't surprised when more and more wanted to come! i felt a bit like the pied piper! leading every one down there! 10mins after we were there, another group turned up! a lot who had said no but then changed there minds!and it was a great afternoon! the best i'd had at the hostel! followed by a great night,
The night was good because it didn't involve the woolshed, well not till the very end anyway! it was just me the Dutch and one German! the rest said it was too expensive! but maybe it was just the fear of a night without goon! but a pizza for $5 and corona's for $3.50 is as cheap as it's going to get in Australia!
This was my first night out with people i didn't work with! and a good one, we may repeat it on newyears eve in Byron Bay!

Julia Sounds as though you are having a good time. Enjoy the next stage of your trip and look forward to hearing more of your adventures. Take care - Julia PS we have just got back from our 2 week trip to Mexico - it was brilliant and we were very well looked after by our Mexican friends. It has been hard getting used to temps of 5 degrees rather than the 25 in Mexico!!! Adios Amigo...Julia
