Arrived safe in Itlay and am totally drunk right now cos i met some other English people! the campiste im staying at is really cool with loaaaaaaadss of facilities. drinsk are pretty pricey but considering i just had a well extensive and gorgeous meal its not a biggie! I was fed up of not having decent sat down meals that fill me up, so when i saw the prices here i just went nuts considering its a budget tour.
I had the days special, which was tagglieteli with some local spicy sausage, porcine mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchini, mozzarella and of course the usual dousing of olive oil and Parmesan. To go with splashed out on a half litre of red wine( i was thirsty, and it turned out to be a good precedant for the rest of the night) and even some water (although it came in a bottle, i wasnt charged for it! score). it came to 11Euro in total so for 8pound i was well fed and really well watered! the food was gorgeous and substatial also.
After the meal i headed to the bar where i was joined by the 2 english girls i had met earlyer, Becky and Katie, alongside their friend with whom they are traveling whos name escapes me right now. Turns out they were into the whole shot thing, and rounds started getin really expensive at 3Euro for a tequilla. Alas, over a litre of red wine later, 2 shots and jagerbomb (redbull and jagermeister) i was well enough gone to know to turn in. Somewhere in the middle of that i made this blog post which today im now editing a little better!
Rome i aint had the chance to chekcut thus far but i am stoked to do so,
Milan was neat but i didnt really have enough time to checkouyt. having a maccy d beside people paying 5 times the price was... sadly.. the highlight. sadly being the fact i didnt have time to explore more! Basically i found this really cool big glass roofed building which im sure was really famous. It had a bull mosaic ont he bloor which i remeber reading was good luck to spin on. spinning on its balls (which represent some town) to be more precise (or perhaps vague). i got a vid of that ill upload at some point. In the building was Prada, louis vuiton and other top designers alongside very expensive, 20euro starter pasta type places. then, niched in the middle was stuck a macdonnalds... and very nice it was too! so i sat there and ate a 6Euro meal and enjoyed every last big of it to some famous guy playing a piano live in the middle of this hallway thing! You shall have to excuse me i really dont seem to retain the interesting historical facts about such buildings... all i know is ive been there, it looked cool etc etc, which i know is rather sad but guide books get expensive!
Today i shall checkout the city of Rome (i say that rather lightly huh!). I hear its pretty big, with many big things in it. I also hear the big things such as buildings and statues and stuff are pretty important, so it may take a while to see all the important stuff.
I guess thats the bonus of a camera. i can just tag the stuff i see with a picture and then people who know "stuff" about the place may comment at a later date with something interesting and then i can say "oh yeah... ive been there".
At 10 Euro a night, this morning i also enjoyed a massive lay in until 11am which is a welcomed break from getting up at 8am for breakfast and a 11am checkout. No hangover so far, so im bracing myself for a typically Matthew Evening Hangover - MEH!
Mat out!
