Soooo... I decided to make my last night in Prague yesterday, and spoiled myself with a mixed grill of pork chicken and some sort of spiced beef... washed down with a few beers of course, which poops all over aussie beer i'm afraid.... I'm yet to try Absinth, which is around 70 percent alcohol, and I'll let you know how I go. SO, this morning I pack-walked to the main bus station, which is about 20 mins from the hostel. It's in a pretty dingy area, so I kept my eyes to myself and my hand on my swiss army knife... I decided in the end to head to Ceske Krumlov, apparetly one of the most beautiful old-towns in Europe. The bus ticket cost $7.50 for about a 200 kay run, I bought it from the bus driver and sat down. About 5 mins later some asians came to my seat, and showed me their tickets that they had reserved them. I got up, and then realised I had been f***ed... the obvious thing would be to buy the ticket in the terminal, but no, I bought it from the driver, which means that I have no seat number, and that if all the prepaid seats were taken (which they were) and would have to stand (which I did). So I stood up for about 1 and a half hours before some people got off and I could sit down. Other than that, an uneventful trip spent looking at the lush green countryside. Once I arrived, I put on my pack and walked the 15 mins down the slope to town, which is one of the most picturesque places I have ever been. Set in the middle of the river, with church towers sticking up here and there, and hills surrounding town. Got to my hostel (thanks again lonely planet) got my bed in a 8 bed dorm. The hostel is pretty much right in town which is great. You can hire canoes or blow up rafts, and travel down the river, which I have seen quite a few people do. They just paddle past, with bottles of beer tied to the raft floating behind them. This is a really relaxed place, with quite a bit to do, old castles to explore, beer to be consumed etc. So I just had a shower, put my shorts and thongs on and now go in search of the local brewery, as any good aussie would....
