What a day!! It started not too early with a visit to the King Tutunkhamen exhibition which was filled with artifacts from a few of the tombs from the Valleys of the Kings (and also filled with plenty of school students!). It was amazing to see things that have survived over 3000 years, with the paint still all in tact! A bit disappointed that neither the mummy (which is still in it's tomb in Egypt) or any of the sarcophagus were part of the exhibition but still very interesting.
We all then went our seperate ways - Emma to Greenwich Village and Soho to shop, Brianna to Bryant Park and Grand Central Station, while I headed to Columbus Circle and up the western edge of Central Park to Strawberry Fields. We then met back at Radio City Music Hall for the Christmas Spectacular which was fantastic! We left with loads of Christmas spirit! Amazing dancing and singing!
We then headed to Ellen's Stardust Diner for dinner. It's a 50's diner where all the wait staff take turns singing songs. It's quite amusing to watch them deliver trays of drinks whilst singing into a hand held microphone! Food wasn't too bad either. They certainly pack you in but there were some good singers!
It was then time for a comedy club experience so we headed to Dangerfield's. It was....interesting. The first few comedians were actually funny and then as the night progressed, they weren't so funny and it was a small, mainly international crowd and so they started bagging the audience and it got even quieter. They kept picking on one guy in the front, each one of them saying if they could get an interested look from him, their work would be complete. I think he laughed once all night but then when he got up to leave, he had a cane...I don't think he was actually looking at anything all night...oops! The last guy was only 19 and was telling mainly American jokes that nobody got...the waiter told a few jokes at the end and he got more laughs than the last 3 comedians combined!
Finally got back to the hotel at 12:30am and looking forward to not getting up until 8am tomorrow!!
