Day 3
We had great weather today with only a few intermittent storms. We woke up to amazing sun, the temperatures are in the mid 80's but the breeze keeps things cool. We pulled our lounge chairs out and soaked in the sun.
Wes is in love with the sea planes, he runs around like the little guy on fantasy island every time one takes off or lands, I'm sure he has a million photo's of them. We also saw some kite boarders. Wes laughed when I said they weren't half as good as Sara and I when we learned together at the Outer Banks of NC.
We were supposed to snorkel today but Majid said "not good, too windy", so we took a nap instead:) We are adjusting to the time difference though, and stayed up most of the day.
After the nap came the spa, three hours of pampering. We thought we would have separate rooms but they put us in the same room to receive our separate services. Wes got rubbed down with some sand and coffee beans and I got a milk and corn body polish. Next came typical massages, then a soak in a bathtub overlooking the lagoon side of the island. Last came my scalp massage and treatment, I don't think Erda had ever seen so much hair, she was perplexed on how to get the hair tie back in my hair. Overall it was an amazing three hours of treatments, Wes had some interesting moments since he had never had such services before. They made him wear disposable underwear that looked like rubber pants and he said he had a hard time enjoying the massage because he was too worried about passing gas. Figures....boys!
After dinner the staff here arranged for some traditional Maldivian dancers and singers. We took a video to share but my Dr. husband can't figure out how to get the video off the IPhone so stay tuned.
Tomorrow we island hop. The only directions that were given to us was that all ladies must have their shoulders and thighs covered. I wonder what kind of looks I would get if I only wore shorts and some shoulder pads:)
