Day 2 in paradise. It started with breakfast, I was nervous because you know how picky I can be, but luckily my three favorite friends: french toast, pancakes, and waffles were there to greet me:) We have a great server Majid, he is assigned to us for all three meals.
After breakfast we took a walk around the island. It is a coral graveyard along the shore, so pretty. Every shell I picked up had a hermit crab in it, there are lots of those ghost crabs here too. We made it 3/4 of the way around the island before going inland. We snooped around and looked at all the huts only to conclude that we had the best one.
The only problem that we have run into so far on the island is staying awake, the wind here just lulls you to sleep. We are on a four hour flip, four hours of sleep, four hours awake. We've got to break the cycle and get on island time:)
After our nap and before dinner we went to the happy hour hosted by the management here. Free food and drinks, it's like being back home at Silo Point! We met a manager named Eric who informed us that we were only the fifth couple to visit Medhufushi from the United States in the last two years.
Tomorrow we are going snorkeling. I can't wait to go "under the sea". We also made spa appointments. I'm getting a body polish, massage, and a scalp massage/hair treatment. I can't wait. Wes is getting a spa treatment too, they mentioned something about rubbing rice into his back...not my idea of relaxation but I guess they had to make it manly.
We are loving it here and never coming home.
