Our first day of our Roman Holiday.
We slept so long with the aid of Benedryl and black out curtains that we couldn't figure out if it was midnight or noon when we woke up. Noon it was, and for breakfast we had gelato. From the gelato stand we decided to walk to Trevi fountain, we got lost on the way and ended up seeing the home of the President of Italy. We finally found our way and I tossed a coin into Trevi fountain which ensures my return to Italy, come to think of it Wes did not throw a coin into the fountain so I guess my return trip will be with husband #2:)
After Trevi fountain we stopped for some lunch. We had Rigatoni with Amatriciana sauce (bacon and tomatoes), bruschetta, and aranchini's. We then went a few blocks to see the Pantheon and a church with an amazing mural on the celling.
We headed back to the hotel for Wes to change and head out to some sessions while I rebooted with a quick nap and shower. I then triumphantly navigated my way through the twisty, not well marked streets of Rome alone to the University so I could meet up with Wes and some friends for dinner. We had dinner at a roof top restaurant with breath taking views. I had spaghetti carbonara and Wes had ravioli. One of our friends ordered the Sea Bass and they actually brought it to the table whole and then cut off the head and filleted/deboned it right there.

Jamie Watson WOW, Sounds like you all are having a wonderful time. I have never been but always wanted to go. Have fun and safe travels.
Mom Wakefield Wow! Sounds like you had a great first day in Rome. Loved your comment about Wes and the coin in the fountain! Tell him to go back and throw that coin....I like him too much to run the risk of husband #2!! The foods sounds delicious! Enjoy yourselves and be careful roaming around Rome by yourself!! Love you! Mom
Jenn Paulson So glad you're having such a great time! Make sure you take lots of photos. And I agree with Miss Niki, send Wes back to throw that coin in the fountain.
