We made it. We arrived in Rome around 8:30 this morning. The flight was a bit treacherous for me because the night before we left I came down with a vicious head cold which made the 8 hour flight pretty miserable. After checking in to our hotel I slept most of the cold off in a Nyquil haze while Wes went and registered for his conference. I'm feeling a little bit better now so hopefully I will be ready for a day full of sightseeing tomorrow.
Our hotel looks right over the Forum and we have the cutest street side cafe right down the street that looks out over the city. We each had our Aranchini's today, along with some mozzarella and prosciutto, and bruschetta. We ate there for both lunch and dinner and had this very dynamic italian waitress, she seems to run the whole city. She yells at cars as they drive by and seems to know everyone who comes to the cafe. Very stereotypical.
