We are Sailing
We had a very exciting trip today, so this could end up in 2 bloggs.
A couple of little things i missed out last night were:
When we berthed, the people on the boat next to us, Noticed our Aussie flag. There was a mother and a little boy on deck, and when the mother said to the boy that we were from Australia, immediately and without hesitation all he said was "sharks".
In the afternoon we had a great look around the town, beautiful shops which we have found all over Greece, the best hardware store I have ever seem. In has as much as Bunnings has got, but crammed (very organised) into an area about the size off my office at work. Most impressed.
We all then went down to one off the many local churches, and single handedly I have solved Greeks financial crisis. The whole church was adorned with what seemed an endless amount of gold religious fittings. God might not be happy with me, but I am sure the people would love me. Truly a beautiful church.
The other thing of course is that when we berthed, we were only about 15 m from all the restaurants, across the road.
Now about today.
The day started at a reasonable time, because we had to fill the water and fuel tanks up, and organise to pay the Marina lady.
The water was easy, but the fuel was slightly more difficult because we had to locate the truck. It finally turned up, in this rather cute little trick called a Piaggio. The guy was so proud of it because it was new.
Once we got all the operational stuff out the way, we slipped across the road for breakfast. And unlike Corinth, this island did breakfast, BIG English ones at that. Well I had a big breakfast, and Cheryl had her scrambled eggs, Brian his usual toast and Jam, and the others fruit salads fit for a King.
We left Aegina at approximately 11.00 am.
