Den on the loose
NZ Day Eleven
Got up today for our 10.30 hike, thank god it was a sunny day as yesterday it was pelting it down with rain.
The actual hike was amazing, as you walk towards the bottom of the glacier you appreciate fully the magnitude of the glacier. Walking on the ice was bizarre as you had to stomp your foot down for each step you made to get a grip on the ice.
I loved it being on the glacier surrounded by blue ice and crevaces and the different formations created by the sun shinning down on the ice.
Though there were some tricky situations where we had to slide in between a tight crevace and it didn't help with both sides being wet and slippery.
The night was spent drinking again and playing card games with the girls and just having fun, Mark and Tim were pretty knackered so they went to bed whereas i stayed up late again till about 3 or 4 in the morning getting to know my fellow Kiwi Experience peeps alot better.
