Hey guys never did get to finish that journal entry. Anyway had more time to peninsula style reflection. Am deffinately back in Bangalore now. The sea views have been replaced by skyscrapers, the quiet windy goan roads with the death defying six lanes hell ways and massages with standing for hours in theatre, but it had to end some time. Had first proper day in theatre. It's actually really cool, the guys that always seemed a little arogant in the canteen actually turn out to be really nice! They're keen to teach and give me a heads up on what they're going to grill me on the next day so I can do some reading up. Taking a little practice getting back into the whole being questioned but love the challenge on it. Thats what I've been missing! Think it's going to be alot more hands on now as well. Went for awesome chinese buffet curtousy of a reg thats leaving for lunch. It was in a really posh hotel as well, a whole 1 pound fifty for all you can eat. It is going to be so hard to get back used to english prices. The only thing about the surgical team I with is... theres two surgeons with lisps in the same surgical team. When they were talking to me about scissors, stitches and cholecystectomies it was almost too much t bear.
Only thing not impressed on since got back it my room. I'm back to cold bucket showers and bangalore is a lot colder than it was when I left. Also my bed is like a piece of plywood which has warped and clicks into different positions depending on which way I'm lying. Plus there is a man in the next room whos snores so loud I can hear him through a wall, my ceiling fan on full and my head phones in, I am not joking! Didn't sleep a bloody wink last night! But apart from that after the craziest of the last 6 weeks I am really quite happy to get back to the normal convent life.
Since I got back I've been obviously thinking about my travels, they's some people I'm really glad I met and would be gutted to lose contact with...
Jules- the ex-accoutant from scotland whos up and left her life for 6 months to spend it with Jay who see met last year in Palolem. A truely lovely girl and brave with it.
Kay himself- crazy as he is and the fact he only understands 50% of what I say but agrees to everything I say. Now is only everyone was like that!
Manu and Jai- mates of Kays and wicked guys. Jai maybe a little nuts and winds me up everytime I see him, but at least it's interesting. And Manu the thinker and impossible to beat at chess.
Bev- the wise drama teacher from toronto, good fun to travel with for a few days. Sold her house and took year of absence from job and is travelling india for a year- why the devil not.
Gaz and Dave- you've heard enough about them already, house party in november and snow boarding holiday next year apparently!!
Ses- the slightly uptight board shaper from johanesberg, wicked guy once he relaxes and sense of humour almost as dry as my dads.
Jay- possibly the funniest guy stoned I have ever met. Flybees do not return to you like a bomorang however you throw them!
Bo- the ulimate frizbee playing kiwi- she was a wicked laugh for the week we were together and gets herself into almost as much trouble as me.
Hazel- though I knew her for only a couple of days for an essex girl seemed really sound! Only joshing but hope to meet up with her in England.
I hope to have some of the above come visit us in the dear old south west! Coz i'm sure as hell gonna take them up on the offers of somewhere to stay.
Right need to go revise me vessels,
take care all
