We had another one of Fred and Margaret's legendary breakfasts today, and then walked down to the harbour, which is really beautiful. Too soon it was time to go to the airport (I can't believe how quickly the time has gone), and when we got there we went into the terminal with Ben to have a drink and say goodbye properly. After hugs, kisses and tears, Ben walked through the security gate, and I realised how horrible it must have been for our families at the airport when we left England. The three of us walked back to the car, and on the way back Fred got a bit lost, so we took a detour to Kings Park, which overlooks Perth and the Swan River. We went along the tree top walk, and then saw a plane take off at the time when Ben should have been flying, so we stood there waving like idiots!
In the evening we had fish, chips and mushy peas for dinner, I showered and packed and then we had to leave for the airport again. Fred and Mags came into the terminal with me, and then we had to say another goodbye, which made me cry again! My flight was at midnight, so I just sat in the departure lounge for the half an hour before.
