"Hello Barbie, come in and buy!"
On the way back from San Diego we decided to drive to the Mexican border with two northern guys we met - looking back I'm so glad we went with them as Mexico was so much scarier than I thought. We had to leave our car at the border and cross over by foot into Tijuana, with no-one even checking our passports (although we did ask to have a souvenir stamp!). Tijuana was basically a long strip of bars and shops, where you could drink all day if you wanted-the shops offered a free shot with every purchase! It was full of tourists, and there were men selling photos of their donkeys painted to look like zebras, which was very strange. One shop owner shouted out to me, "Hello Barbie, come in and buy!" As if that would make me want to go into his shop! I'm glad we went, but it's not somewhere I would go again!
We then drove back to Hermosa Beach, after queuing for ages to get back into America - apparently it's easy to get into Mexico but difficult to get out! We stopped off at Newport and Laguna Beach on the way back, which are really like they appear on the OC. The houses are amazing, and we all picked out one that we want to live in when we make some (a lot!) of money!
