Ended up eating brunch today at the place we had calimari last night, but the food turned out to be a bit gross. After that we went back to hotel before going towards town for Portofino.
We first went through Villa Durazzo, a nice house with gardens and sculptures as well as the basilica. We walked towards Portofino as it is supposed to take 30 minutes fast pace but it started spitting rain. After about 20 minutes of putting up with the rain we jumped on a bus just before Peruggi. We didnt actually have a ticket but it was so packed that we wouldnt have been able to validate it at the machine even if we had one.
Once we got to PoOrtofino, we walked to the waters edge/marina, took a few photos before sitting on a bench and eating the lunch we had bought earlier in Santa M. We then walked up the main street and saw all the designer shops, Dior, Pucci, LV etc.
Walked back and up along the water edge towards Castello Brown on top of the hill. The view is pretty nice and we hung around the castle grounds for a bit before heading back down. We then sat for a drink before heading back to Santa M. Once we got there we walked back towards hotel and found the markets were on, selling clothes, jewellery, bags, lollies etc. We went home first and got ready for dinner and went to waterfront to look for restaurants. Me and Cheryll had a fish platter (heaps smaller than the Croatian ones, but still good) and Jess hada really good steak. At the end of dinner we heard a big BANG that sounded as loud as cannons and it scared the bejeezus out of us, but turnsout it was fireworks (loudest i'd ever heard).
We then walked around for a bit more before going back to hotel through the markets. There were so many ppl out in town tonight and not sure what was going on but fireworks started again later on tonight.
