... from Napier to Taupo, from Taupo to Wellington, from Wellington with the ferry over to Picton. And now I realise it was over two months since I last wrote.
Taupo had a lot to offer, and we decided to go skydiving as we've been wanted to to that and they had the best offers. We opted for the 16.500 F.T one as that would result in a longer freefall and that is really what you're after. It is hard to describe the feeling when you are about and throw yourself out from a plane with no realisation of what is up or what is down. I must admit that my body was slightly shaking afterwards, but in a good way. We decided that it would be a good idea to go out for a couple of beers after to celebrate and Taupo had a decent night life for such a small town, eventhough a bit limited, but people were friendly and open minded ;).
A night out and an experience with white water rafting, which was great but could have been a bit more thrilling, we started our journey to Wellington. Me and Madeleine had birthday there and we went out for an amazing steak and for drinks afterwards. Nightlife was a bit dead, maybe because it was Tuesday.
We had a day of recovery from previous night's event and then took the ferry over to Picton, and I had work starting a few days later. Annica and Madelein took off after a night because they had somewhere to be. Me, on the other hand had to stay in Picton four nights, before heading out to Marlborough Sounds and Furneaux Lodge where I am currently working and have been for the last two months. Working here has been a wonderful exprience both in terms of work and beautiful scenery. On one very lucky day dolphins could be seen from a very close distance and that is something I will have in my memories for a very long time... Soon, Annica and I will start our journey down south!
Over and out
