I've had a pretty busy week so far. Tuesday night I went to the movies (again)! On Wednesday I went on an evening township tour to do more research and photo-taking for my web site project. We had dinner with a local family living in one of the township shacks. The only other people on the tour were two women from Ireland. I think they enjoyed it, but they were quite shocked by some of the aspects of township life.
Yesterday I had a nice business networking lunch at the Glen Carlou wine estate. Then, I went back out to the Winelands to go to dinner at an African-themed restaurant called Moyo at the Spier estate. They have entertainment and a huge buffet. It was a bit over the top!
Tonight I'm going to dinner at a chi-chi restaurant in Cape Town called The Showroom. Marjan, a German intern I've met here, wants to go before she leaves South Africa on Monday, and who am I to pass up the chance to go to a great restaurant?! I have read really good things about this place, so I'm excited.
This weekend is the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, and I am going on Saturday. It's rumored to be one of the best in the world!
