This week was able to go on another tour called the "Bushman Experience" where we visited a San interpretive center, an ostrich farm, and drove along the west coast above Cape Town. The San were the original indigeneous tribe living in this area of South Africa. The only other people on the tour were two Americans who are civilians but work on a military base in Afghanistan. It was very interesting to hear about their lives!
I'm getting used to driving my rental car on the wrong side of the road a bit more now. We have a long Easter weekend - Friday and Monday off - and tomorrow I am planning to drive a bit out of town along the coast east of Cape Town.
All the other Oregon interns left this week to go to Mozambique, and then back to school for spring term. I think several of them were a bit sad to go back. My "gym buddy" Kate promises to visit us in Sunriver for some spring skiing.
