Day 3 - 27th June
We left Phnom Penh early morning for Siem Reap. The journey took a bumpy 6hours - the driver drove so fast and kept over-taking the slow lorries and bikes, even some of the manoeuvres was pretty risky with oncoming vehicles, but were relived to still be in one piece. At one point during the journey Ross said "I feel fit and wide awake".....10mins later he was fast asleep!
We stopped for a break half way through our journey and there was a market across the road selling lots of different insects to eat - Ross went over to look, while William stood far away as possible.....luckily for William, Ross didn't come back with a bag full of cockroaches!!
We arrived at Siem Reap and booked into a hostel and it had just started to rain but it didn't stop us from having a look around town. It wasn't as big and confusing as phnom penh, so we managed to find our way around easily.
We were feeling weary and tired from our journey when we came across a massage place so we went in to have full body massage for an hour - it wasn't as good as it was in Phnom Penh and realised an hour was too long.
We were soon hungry, so went to 'pub street' where all the bars and restaurants are stacked together along one street. William couldnt resist ordering a Hawaiian pizza, whereas Ross refused to eat any western food, only going for local dishes. The waiters will stand right next to you until you've decided what to eat....even if you took 30mins - it was a bit strange having a statue-like person next to us.
Ended the evening with a few beers and some pool against some French travellers (which ended in a draw!) before hitting the sack.
