Within a couple of hours of landing I'm hitting the night life of Koh San Road with Kevin, who is staying at my hostel. We drink Sang Som and soda with some hilarious wake boarders, somehow stumble through 'Cowboy Road' the red light district of Bangkok, lined with go-go bars and littered with middle-aged, balding white men on our way to Glow Bar. I spend the next few days in Bangkok with Ben and Nyen discovering the delights of Thai foods stalls, exploring China Town, enjoying my first tuk-tuk ride, shopping in Siam Square, cruising the Chao Phraya River and checking out the beautiful Wat Arun. Bangkok definitely has a fast-pace, sweaty charm about it but after day three I'm ready to leave its bustling sticky streets for the golden sand beaches of the south coast.
