The temples here are amazing, but this one had a massive buddha in it so this one was my fav! Top of the pops, cream of crop, gold medal winner....you get the picture!
John and I have seen our fare share of temples and shrines now at this stage of our tour of Japan, but this Buddha sat in this temple was like 13metres tall, solid metal and coated in gold!!! 'twas amazing!
What is also very nice is the deer in this area. At one point John suggested I buy crackers from the little old lady to feed to them! But after witnessing a child nutted and pushed over, a japanese girl with cute pigtails and thick glasses on screeching for help and standing on her tip toes to grow a little taller...and after my crow incident....I thought better of it!
Also, the day before the little bambi wannabes tried to steal my pack of loo roll out the side pocket of my ruck sack!!! These animals are no where near as friendly as bambi comes across!
Not to forget we have just been to hiroshima-where the first atomic bomb was dropped in 1945. The peace museum had some real graphic images from the disaster. So hard to imagine what happened only 50ish years ago. But I think it is one of my fav places we have visited in Japan. Little bit of tokyo (the neon signs and bright lights) mixed with a lot of history, cute parks was a real nice mix.
We are now in Osaka, had the biggest bowl or egg fried rice, ramen and chicken, washed down with a beer = totally stuffed! ( to compensate I have checked out the local gym and running park-that will be me at 8am :) ).
