Our last stop today was Spearfish Canyon. This a narrow rock canyon with follows spearfish creek. The road seemed to follow thwat used to be a foot path winding along the creek with granite structures on both sides. Lots of pine. We arrived at camp around 8:30 and made dinner. Steaks and veggies over charcoal.
We tried with no avail to make a fire because the entire area had been raped and pilaged for wood. Even trees hanging over the creek had the limbs sawed off of them. We tried making small pine nests to keep our attention, but deciced to drink a bottle of wine and watch the incoming thunderstorm work its way up the canyon. It was like a fireworks display compliments of mother nature.
It was much cooler then previous evenings, which was appreciated. MB gave me the privilage of hearing her church voice as we decided on our slogan for the trip.
